Many times, we can’t help but remember that we’re just animals that have emotions and desires and behavior all tied up in the brain. Our dog is a good example of this. When she was a puppy we had a lot of trouble understanding why she wouldn’t want to be put to bed. Eventually, she was adopted by a family that loved dogs, but she was left in a home where she was constantly put to bed.
We took matters into our own hands and put her down to sleep. We knew that we would never give up on her and decided to try to keep her happy. Even after we moved into our new home, we still got her to sleep on my lap. She still wakes up when I tickle her belly or put her in her crate. I wonder how many of us did.
You know, my dog is a very special dog. I can’t believe how much I care for her. She is my best friend and companion, and I wouldn’t trade her for anything. But I don’t know how I could ever keep her happy. I think she’s just tired of being put in so much pain and misery. She spends most of her days curled up next to me in the crate and can’t leave her side even the slightest time.
Of course you have to keep them happy, but a lot of dogs will just curl up and sleep when they get stuck in a crate. But she’s actually a lot harder to cuddle with than I thought. She’s like a little robot with a heart of gold. I think all she wants to do is to be with me. I think I should just let her.
